What are the advantages and disadvantages of gallium nitride charging heads?

Currently, people's dependence on electronic products such as mobile phones, tablets, and laptops is increasing, and the demand for fast charging is also significantly increasing. Therefore, the industry urgently needs to seek new materials to cope with the current demand for fast charging.

So gallium nitride was discovered. Gallium nitride is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula GaN, which is a compound of nitrogen and gallium. It can be used in high-power, high-speed optoelectronic devices, such as gallium ammoniate, which can be used in ultraviolet laser diodes. It is hailed as the third generation semiconductor material after the first generation Ge and Si semiconductor materials, the second generation GaAs, and InP compound semiconductor materials.

Gallium nitride has an output power 900 times higher than silicon, and is characterized by easy heat dissipation, small size, low loss, high power, high temperature resistance, fast switching, low resistance, and high voltage resistance. This is why major manufacturers now choose gallium nitride as their charging head.

But everything has two sides. Although gallium nitride chargers have obvious advantages, they also have disadvantages, such as high research and development costs and relatively high prices.
